An iron pipe with a crank that talks, sings, and pours out poetry — always about the place where it‘s placed.
Just as memorial plaques mark historical significance, our ”Vernean” periscope of the submarine captures the essence of a city quarter, specific house, street, or hill, but through sound.

It’s a talking statue. A genius loci amplifier. The Poetry Jukebox interacts with its surroundings. As someone gazes at the facade of a historic building, they can listen to the echoes of life from a hundred years ago.
A swallow chirps, the wind rustles — the view becomes a movie.

In collaboration with local experts, we curate a collection of twenty recordings. With the click of a button, you can choose what you want to hear, like a public jukebox. It is an audio memorial to the people and themes that co — created the place. We don‘t need electricity. It‘s created by passers — by turning a crank, reminiscent of old phonographs and barrel organs. A counter inside tracks the number of plays — around 50,000 times a year.
That’s thousands of minutes spent connecting with local stories.
We‘d love to help tell the story of your place, too.
