Třebíč

The programming of the Třebíč Poesiomat focuses closely on the city’s rich history and literary legacy. Passersby can listen to poems by Vítězslav Nezval, Jakub Deml, and Jan Zahradníček—prominent poets whose lives were linked to the local high school. There are also mysterious stories and tales from Třebíč’s unique Jewish quarter, as well as recollections from eyewitnesses.

The ceremonial launch was attended by Martin Kukla, Governor of the Vysočina Region; Pavel Pacal, Mayor of Třebíč, along with Deputy Mayor Miloš Hrůza; Oldřich Navrátil, a native of Třebíč and well-known actor who narrated some of the recordings in the Poesiomat; and the Horácko folk ensemble Bajdyš, which performed a selection of their dances, and Ondřej Kobza, the project’s creator.

The installation in Třebíč marks the launch of the entire regional project. Gradually, eight other towns and villages in the Vysočina Region will join in: Pacov, Nové Město na Moravě, Telč, Třešť, Havlíčkův Brod, Želiv, Polná, and Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou.
